FOOD DISTRIBUTION AT KHANA GHAR, KARACHI
APPNA-DMV raised funds for Khana Ghar, which were matched by central APPNA. A total of $4000 was sent to Khana Ghar. On 2/13 and 2/14, around 170 families were provided food/ration packages at Khana Ghar in Khada Ki Basti, Karachi. Mrs. Parveen Saeed helped in organizing the distribution.
FOOD DISTRIBUTION WITH CDRS AT MEHER ABADI, ISLAMABAD:
On 2/19, APPNA DMV and CDRS collaborated for food distribution at Maher Abadi in Islamabad. Food pack for a month consisting of flour, rice, lentils, tea, cooking oil, and spices was distributed among 76 families at a primary school in Maher Abadi. Timothy Todd Shea and Lanny Cordola sang ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ to entertain children. Dr. Nadra Khan represented APPNA DMV. Dr. Huma Mushtaq and Dr. Shafiq Umar volunteered, and $1500 dollars were raised for this event by the chapter and $500 of these were matched by central APPNA.
DONATION TO PROMOTE EDUCATION IN PAKISTAN:
APPNA DMV president Dr. Nadra Khan visited HDF office in Islamabad on 2/19 to meet the HDF team. HDF spends $130 on the education of a child per year. Dr. Nadra Khan presented $1500 for children’s education on behalf of the chapter.
